Electric Circus | Ditka & Jaws Cigars with The Stars | Irish Cowboy
Houston's hottest party band, Electric Circus, performed the spectacular VIP celebrity event, Ditka & Jaws Cigars with The Stars, at Irish Cowboy in Houston on February 2, 2017. This NFL Alumni VIP Cigar Party was a star-studded event, bringing football celebrities together with patrons to raise funds for worthy charities: the Jaws Youth Playbook (JYP), Gridiron Greats and After the Impact Fund. The festive event featured premium cigars from the industry's top brands, single-malt scotch, delicious food and a silent auction with one-of-a-kind sports memorabilia.
The rich aroma of cigar smoke wafted through the crisp fall, evening air as the sounds of Houston dance band, Electric Circus, poured from the stage, beckoning people to the dance floor. The band set the mood of the night as they played their own rendition of Bruno Mars' "24K Magic," the audience throwing their hands skyward in unison as the singers belted the chorus. 24 carat magic was certainly in the air at this NFL-celebrity event.
Legends Mike Ditka and Ron Jaworski joined forces to host the event during the Super Bowl, entertaining their celebrity friends and charitable guests during this sports spectacular. The party was alive with laughter, dancing and enjoyment as Electric Circus electrified the stage and patrons generously pledged their donations during the silent auction.
The recipient charities were at the forefront of the evening, as the night of enjoyment would ultimately transmit to raising awareness and funds needed to assist youths, veterans, and retired pro athletes.
Jaws Youth Playbook (JYP) advocates for healthy choices and safe play to improve the overall health and wellness of at-risk youth, primarily in Greater Philadelphia, through raising awareness and supporting programs that focus on youth health and wellness.
The Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund assists dire need retired NFL players to obtain medical and dental assistance, and aid for food, medication and utilities.
After the Impact Fund aims to facilitate the healing process for retired pro athletes and veterans suffering with unseen injuries from the field including: traumatic brain injury, addiction, anxiety, depression, PTSD and suicide prevention.
Special event band, Electric Circus' character and charisma made an indelible mark on the charity function. The 5-piece band, fronted by a phenomenal male and female vocalist, has its own brand of uniqueness that separates them from standard cover bands. Electric Circus, a vintage-themed show band, scales their thematic stage presence and stage show up or down according to the event. The charity event desired a touch of vintage-charm paired with ultra-high energy, choreography, and MC services to keep the audience engaged and excited throughout the night.
Irish Cowboy was the ideal venue for the semi-formal event held in the outdoor amphitheater in a secluded, scenic area tucked in the heart of Houston. Single malt scotch was the drink of choice, a perfect compliment while puffing on a premium cigar. However, the Texas-sized bar had over 70 draft beers to choose from to quench the thirst of any beer connoisseur.
Cameras flashed throughout the night as Mike Ditka and Ron Jaworski posed with Electric Circus, NFL stars and patrons. The party lasted long into the night as guests danced to the music of Electric Circus, guests bid on NFL memorabilia, cigars were smoked, and memories made all in a lively effort to raise money for the notable charities represented by Mike Ditka and Ron Jaworski.
The night was a great success!
The evening was filled with great music, amazing cigars, NFL celebrities, outstanding scotch, and notable patrons that generously donated for worthy causes. The event draws in patrons from across the country to bid on signed sports memorabilia as the actual NFL players mingle amongst the patrons and enjoy the party festivities.
