Satellite Band | Ellen & Will's Wedding | Shirley Acres
Congratulations to Ellen and Will, married on March 9, 2019 at Shirley Acres in Houston, TX. The couple chose to hire Stargazer Productions' Houston wedding band, Satellite, after watching them perform live at a special social event at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
Located in North Houston on a 21 acre estate, Shirley Acres is a picturesque all-inclusive wedding venue situated amidst towering pine trees and majestic Oaks. The property has two unique reception halls: The Pavilion, and the Garden Room. There is also an outdoor ceremony space landscaped with seasonal flowers and a decorated arbor. Ellen and Will chose to have their reception in The Pavilion, an intimate space with a rustic elegance that is hidden among the trees and overlooking a pond.
Cord Stone of Stargazer Productions coordinated with the couple to plan special song requests for the band to learn especially for them, and to comprise a unique song playlist to be both performed by the band and streamed during band breaks. He also worked with the couple and the venue's event coordinator regarding the timeline, sound details,
Satellite made all the special announcements during the reception, introducing the newlyweds to the song, "I'll be There for You" by the Rembrandts, followed by the wedding party introductions, and the announcements to assist the flow of the reception.
Ellen and Will danced their first dance together as a married couple to, "I Do Like We Do," by Harry Connick Jr.
Soon to follow were the Father-Daughter and Mother-Son dances. Ellen and Will had the original recordings streamed by the band as the danced these traditional dances with their parents.
Satellite energized the reception playing the best dance hits for all ages. Ellen relayed, "Satellite was truly one of the highlights of our wedding..." The band played all the couple's favorite songs from their playlist. Their 150 guests had a great time, filling the dancefloor having a great time as Satellite band engaged the audience and the newlyweds from onstage.
During the planning stages of their wedding, the couple had a special request for the band to learn a song that had unique meaning to the couple. For the last dance of the evening. Satellite was happy to learn and perform, "I Wanna Grow Old With You" by Adam Sandler from the movie The Wedding Singer. The song touched everyone there, evoking laughter and tears, as the couple danced to the song that would forge an unforgettable memory of their wedding day.
Ellen and Will's wedding reception was one to remember. The couple was so sweet and the guests were filled with happiness and energy, dancing all night to Satellite's top-40 hits and classic favorites. The couple exited the party as their loving guests held sparklers, illuminating their pathway in the warm spring night.
